With a file and WD40. So, not exactly a super achievement.

Shoot.
It's basically a mini video of me mending my bathroom door. It's simple, but I'm proud to fix something with nothing but a file and WD40 (and a screwdriver, of course).

Yeah. Best part are the reactions. The door never stayed closed unless you locked it from inside. The handle itself was useless because that little piece that holds it was jammed open. I fixed it and didn't tell my fiancee and her sister (who sometimes sleeps over). Her sister yelled from the 2nd floor:
- "Hermann! The bathroom door is jammed!"
- "Have you tried pressing the handle?"
- "Hey! You fixed it!"

Haha yeah, I've had quirky doors like that, that I've just learned to live with. But it was always amusing to watch other people struggle with them.
Right now to open the door to my balcony it's easiest to just pull way up high on the holder for the blinds. You also have to lock it to keep it closed. I rent this place, so I dont care, haha.

Renting a place sucks for these reasons. The landlord usually doesn't care, or takes months to fix a simple issue. I also rent, but this door got too annoying. If you see the video it's clearly a very old door, the handle is probably at least 40 years old. And because it could only be closed if someone was inside, the cats used to push the door open to drink water from the faucet, so the sink was always full of paw marks and cat hair.
Be careful, because the holder for the blinds might also break. It happened to me. Not on this house, though. I moved in this month.
